The Metro Rail Corporation is planning to launch a Vande Metro service between Ahmedabad and Dholera, marking Gujarat's first introduction of this high-speed train. Dholera, rapidly evolving into a significant industrial hub with numerous companies setting up operations, including Tata's semiconductor chip plant and Micron's facility, underscores the region's growing importance.
The proposed Vande Metro aims to enhance connectivity to Dholera, catering to urban commuting within a 100 km radius. This initiative aligns with efforts to bolster the area's development, leveraging faster travel times and efficient service. The metro is designed for speeds and efficiency, featuring only four stations between Ahmedabad and Dholera to maintain high speeds crucial for urban transport.
Infrastructure development is pivotal for Dholera's future, with plans underway for highways, airports, schools, hospitals, and other essential amenities to support the influx of businesses and residents. The project has been submitted to the Ministry of Railways, with a feasibility study progressing to facilitate comprehensive growth in the region.
